Vancouver townhouse prices set record in March as affordability crisis persists

The Vancouver region’s affordability crisis persists as buyers drive up townhouse prices to record levels.
The average price for townhouses sold in the area reached a new high at $966,221 in March, up 16.3 per cent from a year earlier, the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver said on Wednesday. The previous record was $938,805, set in February.

British Columbia’s economy is forecast to remain strong through 2020


VANCOUVER _ British Columbia is predicted to have solid economic growth through 2020 by a trade association of credit unions. The new forecast calls for a three per cent growth in the province’s real gross domestic product, which is the inflation-adjusted value of all goods and services produced in B.C.
